The Friends of the Paris-Bourbon County Library are people like you who believe in and support our library. They are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the Paris-Bourbon County Library make information and knowledge accessible to the surrounding community with funds generated by book sales, donations, membership fees, and gifts. The money raised helps the library with various activities, including sponsoring speakers, helping with staff development, and purchasing books for special programs. This in turn frees up money for the library to focus on expanding its resources. Because of state cutbacks the funds are especially important right now and because of the library’s limited space the Friends of the Library are looking into starting a building fund to help with expansion.
The Friends of the Paris-Bourbon County Library try to have quarterly book sales and maintain a book sale cart on the first floor of the library. Hardback books, audio CDs, DVDs and other media cost $1.00 and paperbacks cost $.25. Donations of books, tapes, etc. to help with sales are always welcome! Please bring any donations to the library and if you need help with carrying boxes, please call the library in advance (859-987-4419) to make sure that someone will be available to assist you. (Smaller/lighter boxes are always appreciated!)
Friends of the Paris-Bourbon County Library is a 501-3c entity which is completely separate from the library itself. Contributions may be tax deductible under Section 170 of the IRS Code.
