It seems that everyone is going
online these days – for e-mail, sharing photos, shopping, researching,
getting news, even for socializing. If you would you like to explore
the Internet but you’re not quite sure how to get started, if you are
frustrated with trying to search, or especially if you are worried
about online safety issues... ask a librarian!
The formal computer classes offered
by the library in past years are not currently being offered. However,
library staff members are available to assist you with many simple
questions, and even offer individual tutoring on a wide variety of
topics, by appointment.

new digital camera, or if you're just curious about how they work,
come in for a quick demo.
HOW TO BURN A CD or USE A USB 'FLASH' DRIVE: We'll show you how
it's done - easy as pie!
HOW TO DOWNLOAD FILES and/or HANDLE E-MAIL ATTACHMENTS: Just
need to get that file or picture from the Internet onto your own
machine? We'll show you how to do it in a snap.
HOW TO USE THE LIBRARY'S ONLINE CATALOG: Tips and techniques
for getting the most out of the library's catalog; learn how to
reserve and renew items, and see your own borrowing history.
HOW TO USE THE LIBRARY'S MICROFILM VIEWER: Hands-on
demonstration of the new digital viewer and computer scanning
software, emphasizing how to edit and how to control printing. This
machine will even scan slides and camera-film negatives!
HOW TO USE THE LIBRARY'S LOW-VISION MAGNIFICATION CAMERA: Learn
to use this state-of-the-art equipment for those with low vision -
read a book or magazine in full color, or see the fine print on maps
and more.
